FLEECY PADDING is good to protect skin from rubbing and friction by applying directly over an area. Thin fleecy web is in our blister care pack (Bargain Pack D).
Our fleecy padding comes in two types:
The Fleecy WEB padding is soft mouldable thin
padding with raised slightly felted surface.It is approx 2mm thick, made of a knitted fabric and is pink in colour with a
hypo-allergenic adhesive backing.
The
Fleecy FOAM is a pink polyurethane foam with bubble cells linked
atmospherically to each other.It is
approx 5mm thick, soft and air permeable.
These are both
used to provide a barrier to protect sore and tender skin from chafing.The fleecy padding should be cut to size, the
backing peeled off and stuck gently to the skin.Removal is by peeling off but if difficult or
painful the patient may like to soak in warm soapy water first.The pink colouring makes it less noticeable
and it can be easily applied in close fitting shoes.The knitted fabric means that is has a high
degree of stretch in two directions which means that it conforms to the
contours of the foot.
The adhesive is low
allergy (hypo-allergenic - Hapla) but do not leave padding in situ too long. Chiropodists / Podiatrists usually secure the padding in place by
using hypo-allergenic ADHESIVE STRAPPING.
