FELT CHIROPODY PADDING can be cut to shape around a painful area to relieve pressure and alleviate discomfort. It is primarily used to deflect pressure from the
lesion e.g. away from corns and painful callous. Using a simple crescent shape works well. Cut to size and shape required, then peel off paper backing, and apply padding to intended site.
Our semi-compressed felt padding is white with hypo-allergenic (Hapla) backing and is
hygroscopic i.e. it absorbs perspiration therefore keeping the area dry.The adhesive is low
allergy (hypo-allergenic) but do not leave padding in situ too long.
Most Chiropodists / Podiatrists use the 5mm depth padding where there is a
choice in depth.However, the patient
should be guided by how much room there is in their shoe i.e. not a great deal
of room opt for the 2mm depth but obviously if you can get away with 5mm or 7mm
that would be the optimum in most cases.
Chiropodists / Podiatrists usually secure the padding in place by
using hypo-allergenic ADHESIVE STRAPPING.
